WHITEWELL CHICKEN LIVER PATE
This classic recipe retained for yet another season's menu due to its outstanding popularity, now probably in its 28th year. Rich and buttery and served with our own home-made granary toast.
WELLGATE SMOKED SALMON
Smoked for 24 hours by Giles our fishmonger, using a blend of oak and alder chippings, which impart a lovely smooth but distinctive taste..
PRESSED HAM AND BLACK PUDDING TERRINE
Celeriac remoulade, parsley puree, quail egg.
POTTED CORNISH CRAB
Toasted croutes, cucumber pickle, avocado puree.
TREACLE CURED SALMON
Cream cheese, gherkin, shaved fennel, dill oil.
POACHED PEAR, WALNUT AND ARTICHOKE HEART SALAD
Beetroot puree, blue cheese, vierge dressing.
Hummus, pickles, sriracha mayonnaise.
WHITEWELL FISH PIE
Perhaps the dish we are best known for, poached haddock flaked into a creamy sauce with prawns, topped with mashed potato and finished under the grill with a cheddar cheese topping.
Delicious, rich and served solo, no one would want to put tomato ketchup on this, would they?
FISH AND CHIPS
A crispy deep fried haddock in a beer batter, served with our hand cut chips done the proper way with either mushy or ordinary peas, you choose.
ROAST GARLIC MARINATED CHICKEN SALAD
Crispy bacon, quail egg, creamy dressing, skinny fries.
BURHOLME LAMB SHOULDER
Moroccan spices, couscous, apricot and olive compote, preserved lemon and parsley puree.
10OZ RIB EYE STEAK
Flat mushroom, skinny fries, chimichurri, green salad.
CUMBERLAND BANGERS & CHAMP
An old fashioned spicy sausage made locally for us by Farnworths for over 25 years, topped with a fried egg and onion gravy.
WHITEWELL CHEESE AND ONION PIE
Topped with champ potatoes, tender stem broccoli, hand cut chips.
SEARED FILLET OF SALMON
Potato gnocchi, roast peppers, rich tomato sauce, basil oil.
HONEY MUSTARD ROAST HAM
Heritage tomatoes, red cabbage 'slaw, pickles, chutney, granary bread.
